The Xarxa de Antirumors is an agency within the Ayuntamiento de Barcelona which seeks to bring people from all migrant and native communities together through social events, debates, and information sessions. They seek to encourage social cohesion, interaction and intercultural coexistence, and facilitate positive interactions and relationships by finding ways to reduce rumors and stereotypes that affect coexistence between migrant and native communities.
These photos were taken during an interview of a group of male migrants from Ghana, Pakistan, Mauritania, and Guinea, living together in a housing unit in Artigues San Andrea (Barcelona). Each of them have spent a varying number of years in Spain, and they told of their experiences of what it was like to be migrants in Spain. Despite some of them being from the same country of origin, their stories and experiences varied.
